Mammoth Mountain - Dowd fast even at high altitudes!

This past weekend at the annual Mammoth Mountain motocross in California, John lined up against a couple of fellow former 125 west supercross champions in the 30+ vet pro toddler class. Jeremy McGrath and Ty Davis were lined up next to John, as well as former top 125cc national contender Ryan Hughes. Jeremy showed the field he’s still the king, while Dowd and Hughes traded 2-3, 3-2 moto finishes with Ryno edging out John with the better 2nd moto. In the 40+ Senior expert John showed he’s the fastest 40yr old EVER by decimating the field with a 1-1 moto sweep. As for McGrath and Ryno, those damn kids!

Another Southwick National, another Dowd record broken!

If Guinness ever starts compiling motocross record data, they’re going to have to build an office in Ludlow, MA. With John’s unbelievably impressive 7th overall in the 450 motocross class, John became once again the oldest racer to ever finish top 10 in an AMA motocross national. What makes John’s performance so impressive isn’t finishing 7th at 41 years old, but rather the manner in which it was achieved. In the first moto John collided with Antonio Balbi Jr and was sent sand sampling. John got up in 34th place and ended up charging back to 10th! In the second moto, another crash saw John mid-pack, only to claw his way up to 9th. Everyone in the crowd could see John running down Mike Alessi when he ran out of time. We firmly believe that John would have finished 4th or 5th overall without the crashes. Not to mention, he was charging harder 30 minutes into the moto than guys less than half his age. All this after only racing 6 lap local races all season. INCREDIBLE! Check out our exclusive pictures from the Southwick National in the DCS Gallery section.

DCS Financial Group Pre Southwick Test Session Turns Into Mini-National!

Well you’ve heard the rumors, but we’ve confirmed that the fastest racers in the world do practice right in your backyard (literally) and you don’t even know it. Sorry guys but I can’t reveal any information. If you recognize the track, you know, if not I recommend aerial surveillance of the entire east coast. They ushered me in blind folded in a van with darkened windows. Well not really, we actually practice there every week, but this week the call specifically said STAY HOME NOVICE! Or at the very least you’re welcome, but your bike is not, haha. No complaints though, the inside word was enough. It’s kind of like Michael Douglas said in Wall Street “Listen pal, if you’re not inside, you’re outside!” Check out the exclusive pictures from the session in our DCS gallery section.
